#Commute No. 8
I spent all of last week at the beach in South Carolina with friends. Yes, it was as awesome as it sounds. But in addition to all of the normal things to love about being at the beach, I was really enjoying the scenery down there. We were on Seabrook Island, SC in a private community, and in some ways it felt like we were on a private tropical island. Just look at this place! (See below.)
It was so different from the normal cows, farm fields and trees that I see every day in Central PA. It amazes me that this area, which is so vastly different from where I live, exists in the same country where I live, but just a little farther down the coast. Nature is crazy like that.
This month's #commute painting is of an image I took recently of a lone haystack. In my eyes it looked so majestic the way it was sitting in the middle of the field, like a king overseeing his land. What do you think? Maybe I'm crazy.
Pictured above is the original Instagram photo (on the left) next to the final painting inspired by it. You can read more about why I started this series here, and you can see my photo editing process for the Instagram photos here.
