#Commute No. 11

#Commute No. 11

This particular #commute image has been catching my eye each month as I scroll through my collection to pick which one to paint. The original Instagram photo already kind of looked like a painting ... which lent itself well to creating a painting of it. That blue of the sky and the gold of the field are just out of control - you could even say they look fake. It's most likely why I took this picture in the first place. Not to mention that perfect sky blue color against a sunflower gold hue is one of my favorite color combinations of all time.

Of the eleven #commute paintings I've done so far, this is the third one I've done of that farm. In fact, I think it's the fourth. I'm fairly certain that last month's painting was the same farm but from a different angle. So that's kind of crazy. Thirty-six percent of my #commute paintings have the same subject. (#mathnerd) Clearly I'm drawn to it. And of the four, they all have totally different color palettes.

That makes me think about an idea I've thrown around in my head a few times of taking the same photo every day for a year to see how it changes. Wouldn't that be interesting? The idea being that you could create the same photo every day but it would never be the same. Fascinating.
