At last! We’ve reached part two of my honeymoon recap. (Part one was all about Paris.) Since our wedding anniversary recently just passed (and therefore our honeymoon-iversary as well), we’ve been reliving those moments a lot. Plus I was also recipe-testing for the kouign amann recipe (which you’ll find below), so that made us miss our precious honeymoon days that much more, filled with French pastries, cocktails and lazy wanderings. Well now that I’ve FINALLY covered that wedding of ours here on the blog, it’s about time for me to tell you about that honeymoon we took.
That sweet, glorious, perfect, unbelievable honeymoon. The one we took A YEAR ago. Woops. It’s not like I didn’t want to tell you about it, it’s just that I wanted to talk about the wedding first (because we need to go in order), and well … because life happens. But here we are! And don’t you worry – I’m the kind of person who takes notes during her travels so she can remember everything she ate, so I’ll be able to pull those memories out of my brain thanks to my trusty iPhone notes. Near the end of our trip we also spent some time during one of our last meals filling in the gaps of my notes to write down what we did between everything we ate (because I guess that stuff is important too). We realized that we could hardly remember what all we had done at the beginning of the trip, so we had to get it all written down before it became totally impossible to remember. It’s a good thing we did, because otherwise this post would not be nearly as thorough. [Read more…]
In the month of August I had a really fun bachelorette night/weekend, got married, and went on my honeymoon to France. You can’t really beat that. In case you were wondering, that’s why this place has been so silent for the past month. I’m excited for some blog posts that have been on the back burner and will hopefully be published here as soon as I can get my life at home back in order and get into the swing of things again. Although I had an amazing time in the Finger Lakes for my wedding and then in France for my honeymoon, it feels good to be back home – with my HUSBAND, working at a job I love, getting caught up on my podcast listening, blogging, and spending time in my kitchen once again. Expect some more in-depth blog posts in the future regarding our wedding and honeymoon. In the meantime, feel free to check out #robertandsarawedding and #corneliushoneymoon on Instagram to get filled in. I’ve included some snippets of our photo booth fun from the wedding below. Merci, au revoir! [Read more…]
Whoa, life has been crazy! This past month has been a whirlwind of wedding preparations, planning my honeymoon, fabric shopping for my wedding dress, planning my bestie’s bachelorette party, holiday time with family, and trying to stay sane in the midst of it all. For Easter with my family I made this monster of a cake (again), because … duh, it’s the best cake. It was just as phenomenal as the first time. The other day I went to NYC with my two Maids of Honor to pick out some fabric for my wedding dress. My one maid of honor is designing it for me, which is so amazing. (If you’re in need of a wedding dress and want one that is one-of-a-kind, you should definitely check her out.) So we had a great time looking at expensive fabrics, walking up and down Fashion Avenue, having a Fancy Lady Lunch and getting delightfully tipsy just before boarding the bus back to Philly. All in all, a perfect day with friends. Robert and I have also mostly finalized our honeymoon plans! We will be heading to Paris and then to St. Malo (in the Brittany region of France), so if you have any suggestions for me about what we should eat/see/do, please let me know. Here are a few things that have kept me sane this month: [Read more…]
